The winter 2019 anime series Quintessential Quintuplets revealed back in May 2019 that a second season was coming and that arrived on January 7th, 2021 and we had a feature film as well. We learned a month ago that a new project was coming for it but there weren’t any real details for it. Back in May 2023, it was revealed as a TV special that will arrive this summer with a three-week pre-screening in theaters starting on July 14th, 2023.

With that done and over with, Pony Canyon has scheduled a December 6th, 2023 release date for the home video. The DVD will be priced at 7,000 yen while the Blu-ray is priced at 8,000 yen. Each set comes with a stage greeting from Shinjuku as well as the clean opening and closing sequences.

It was directed by Yukihiro Miyamoto from the script by Keiichiro Ochi and animation production by SHAFT. The opening theme song is “Go-toubun no Mirai” while the ending is “Takaramono” which are both performed by the main cast.

The first season was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara and based on the series composition by Keiichiro Ochi. Michinosuke Nakamura and Miyabu Uta are handling the character designs with Tezuka Productions working on the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Futaro Uesugi, Kana Hanazawa as Ichika Nakano, Ayana Taketatsu as Nino Nakano, Miku Itō as Miku Nakano, Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba Nakano, Inori Minase as Itsuki Nakano, Natsumi Takamori as Raiha Uesugi, and Satoshi Hino as Isanari Uesugi.

The series comes from creator Negi Haruba and began in August 2017. Kodansha Comics picked up the rights to the Quintissential Quintuplets manga for domestic release back in June 2018.

This one features the opening theme song “Gotobun no Katachi” by The Nakano Family Quintuplets while the ending them has them also performing “Hatsukoi” for it.
