Based on the property from Sony Creative back in the early 1980s, the winter 2020 anime series based on the Uchi Tama!? property is getting its home video releases handled by Aniplex Japan. The eleven-episode series will be getting a six-volume run beginning March 18th, 2020. While that’s still a bit away, we now have a look at the first cover artwork for it that will help to shape the look of the run as a whole. Check it out below with the schedule. The DVDs are priced at 5,500 yen each with the Blu-rays at 6,500 yen while the first volume with one episode is priced at 3,000 yen and 4,000 yen respectively. All volumes are listed as limited editions.
The show has Kiyoshi Matsuda directing based on the scripts by Kimiko Ueno. Mai Otsuka is handling the character designs with MAPP And LApin TRack producing the animation for it.
The Japanese cast includes Sōma Saitō as Tama Okamoto, Kensho Ono as Pochi Yamada, Yusuke Shirai as Tora Kiso, Yūma Uchida as Be Kawahara, Kana Hanazawa as Momo Hanasaki, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Koma Oketani, Yuuki Kaji as Nora, Yuichiro Umehara as Kuro Mikawa, Wataru Hatano as Gon Noda, Tomoaki Maeno as Buru Kuramochi, Yuka Terasaki as Takeshi Okamoto, Minami Takahashi as Kun Kuramochi, Ayane Sakura as Emi Hanasaki, and Masaya Takatsuka as Tomekichi Kiso.
The opening theme song for the series is “Friends” by wacci.
Plot Concept: In a city somewhere in Japan, there’s a flyer often seen on Third Street with a picture of a cat with a kinked tail, bearing the words: “Have you seen Tama?” A young boy gazes at the flyer, but he has fluffy ears on his head…!? Watch the dogs and cats from Third Street take on a human form and get up to some mischief.
