Manga creator Koji Kumeta is most well-known in North America for his work on Zetsubou-Sensei, a series that struggled in its North American release. Back in December 2015, he launched his next series with Kakushigoto, which back with the release of the first volume 2016 had an animated ad produced by SHAFT. With the series wrapping up in March 2020, that definitely casts our view of the show in a slightly different way. With the April 2020 premiere set for it previously, we now have an April 2nd premiere on Tokyo MX set at midnight that night. Additionally, the official site updated with a new character promo that’s focused on Hime while also releasing a specific character key visual for her as well.

The series will see Yuta Murano directing it based on the scripts from Takashi Aoshima. Shuuhei Yamamoto is on board for the character designs with Ajia-do handling the animation production. The cast is simple as one might expect with Hiroshi Kamiya as Kakushi Goto while Chika Anzai is Hime Goto. Hiroshi Kamiya returns from the promo as Kakushi Gotō as well.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot concept: The story centers on Kakushi Gotō, who doesn’t want his daughter, Hime Gotō, to know that he is a manga creator. The manga’s comedy focuses on the daily life of a family with a manga artist. In addition to being a word play on the father’s name, the ambiguous title can mean “Hidden Things,” but can also be read as “Drawing Job.”
