Bandai Visual announced a while ago that the third installment of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin would be landing this spring. We’d previously gotten a visual, which you can see to the right, as well as a pair of trailers for it. Now Bandai Visual has updated with more information, revealing a May 21st, 2016 theatrical release. The home video release details were also set with a layout the same as past editions with a collector’s edition at 10,000 yen available with the theatrical release while the standard DVD and Blu-ray editions will arrive on June 10th, 2016.
Animated at Sunrise, the series is directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Takashi Imanishi with Hiroyuki Nishimura serving as the chief animation director based on the manga by Yasuhiko.
Plot concept: The four-episode project will tell the story of Casval Rem Deikun and Artesia Som Deikun (Char and Sayla, before Char became known as the Red Comet) before the One-Year War in UC.0068.
