Ghost in the Shell 2015Originally announced back in September 2014, the new Ghost in the Shell anime feature is set to debut on June 20th, 2015 and now the official YouTube channel for the franchise has released twelve minutes of footage from it. This falls in line with how several features have been promoted in the last few years, both for films and theatrical run OVAs. It gives us a look at a lot of material to be sure. In addition to that, Sony Japan has put together a two minute promo to highlight the 4k TV line that they ave with the footage showcasing it. of course, a web broadcast doesn’t show the quality in the same way, but you get a look at some new footage through it.

Details are still slim about the film in general that’s coming from Production I.G., but it has Kauchika Kise listed as the general director and character designer while Kazuya Nomura is slotted as the director. Tow Ubutaka is handling the screenplay while Toru Okubo is serving as the chief animation director and Cornelius as working on the music. Kise recently handled the direction on Ghost in the Shell: Arise and it looks like we’re getting a different Motoko here than we had in that series, to the delight of some to be sure.

The voice cast from the Ghost in the Shell: Arise OVA series will be reprising their roles here as well with Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai, and Miyuki Sawashiro.
