Fate/stay night (Unlimited Blade Works) | Episode 12

Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works

Buckeye: That was quite depressing to see how much of a sorry state Shirou is in after all that. Caster is quite a menace there, and it’s one thing to be a super-powerful adversary. But Caster is much different seeing that she exposes loopholes and has such a manipulative trump card to take Saber away like that. Then there is a remixed version of the opening theme of the original FSN to as the ending that’s really nice. What a way to end the first half as it does a great job to set the stage for something big to go down.

GingaDaiuchuu: Ending it with “This Illusion” by LiSA couldn’t be more perfect.

I actually can’t deal with Saber being this moe. Let’s get some moe Archer in there for balance!

Hmm… Rin’s comments on Shirou’s height… [Has she subconsciously figured out Archer’s identity through the dreams and whatnot?]

It’s going to be a tough wait, but the next season should be pretty amazing. Hope there are more of these long episodes.

Hitsugi Amachi: I was already aware of what was going to happen, but this episode did a good job of getting us to a dramatic ending point for the cour. Yeah, bringing back “This Illusion” in a new version was a nice touch as well. Though the final montage showing all the masters and servants kind of reminds one how little we’ve seen of many of them. Though they’ll all get their chances once we come back in April. It’s going to be a long wait.

Sensuifu: Damn that montage. Teasing us like that makes the wait all the more difficult.

Pretty nice midway/stopping point though. I’m curious if they’ll be including cut scenes like they did with F/Z…i.e. Assassin’s impalement scene appeared too abrupt. Hopefully the BD includes extended cuts, at least if there are any, which wouldn’t be surprising if true.
