FUNimation Adds ‘One Piece Film Z’ Release Day Anime Trailer

2 min read

One Piece Film Z CoverFUNimation didn’t do a lot of pre-release marketing for One Peice Film Z as there wasn’t anything in the way of dub clips or other marketing pushes. But the release has landed today on DVD and DVD/BD combo and they’ve brought out the full length trailer once again for it to entice fans into grabbing it. The feature came out back in December 2012 and made $77 million theatrically in Japan, which is $20 million more than the last “traditional” One Piece film with Strong World that came out in 2009 and did $54 million.

Of the new characters, the cast includes:

  • Jeremy Schwartz as Z
  • Tia Ballard as Young Z
  • Lauren Landa as Ain
  • Matthew Mercer as Bins
  • Ray Hurd as Kizaru

The main cast includes:

  • Colleen Clinkenbeard as Luffy
  • Luci Christian as Nami
  • Sonny Strait as Usopp
  • Christopher R. Sabat as Zoro
  • Eric Vale as Sanji
  • Brina Palencia as Chopper
  • Stephanie Young as Robin
  • Patrick Seitz as Fanky
  • Ian Sinclair as Brook
  • Brian Mathis as Garp
  • Ed Blaylock as Sengoku
  • Andrew Love as Akainu
  • Jason Douglas as Aokiji

Plot concept: Said to be comparable to the Ancient Weapons of old, the Marines’ trump card, the “Dyna Stones,” have suddenly been stolen by a group of renegade vigilantes. The terrifyingly powerful man responsible, former Marine Admiral “Z,” now stands in the path of Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates. Can the Straw Hats defeat “Z” and his crew, or will the New World meet its end at the hands of this mad man?
