While it has an awkward title, we’ve got the first look in a brief teaser at the first feature in two years since Naruto: Road to Ninja came out. The tenth installment in the franchise overall, The Last -Naruto the Movie- is set for a December 6th, 2014 released. The film is coming at the same time that the original manga series by Masashi Kishimoto is entering the 15th anniversary period of the property which is being celebrated in a Naruto’s New Era Opening Project which includes this feature film.
While the teaser has landed now, a full trailer is set for release on August 1st in Japan, which will end up online quickly.
With regards to the title, we don’t expect this to be the last Naruto feature, especially if it makes money. The title is likely in reference to something in the film called The Last and the way the title is being presented is just a cultural aspect. Kishimoto is serving on the film by doing the designs, supervising and coming up with the conceptual idea for the film.
