Charlie Cox Gets ‘Daredevil’ Netflix Series Lead

Marvel Studios has put out the official word after word first surfaced last night that Charlie Cox is indeed taking on the role of Daredevil in the first of five Netflix series set to begin in 2015. The series, which recently brought on Steven S. DeKnight as showrunner after Drew Goddard shifted to a consulting position, will be filmed in New York City this summer and its expected we’ll see a lot more images come then. The series is set for a thirteen episode run. Marvel’s announcement also includes the news that Drew Goddard wrote the first two episodes of the series.

Charlie Cox has some solid roles behind him but hasn’t been a household name, though his turn in Boardwalk Empire generated a lot of buzz and fans. The actor was also in the feature film Stardust and will be seen in the upcoming film Dracula Untold.

Plot concept: Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
