With Ryousuke now having been clued in to the reality of the world at this time and what’s going on, at least mostly, there are some other mild revelations that come into play as well. Just the little bit with hi smother at the start where she talks about what happened when she was pregnant with him is certainly intriguing in what it brings to the table with how he’s been able to do so many things and the level of his power. It helps to nicely reinforce the bond between the two a bit during a difficult time and makes it clear that she’s always known there’s been some potential for something very different about his life to come into play. Of course, Ryousuke has other fish to fry as well since he has a whole date with Mina in the offing to deal with too.

The date that the two go on is certainly basic and cute, even if Ryuousuke does look a bit childish with the clothes and style he picked out. It does work when taken in conjunction with Mina though as she has that certain innocence about her that factors into it. The date goes through some of the usual patterns here, even with the world in the state that it’s in, and we get the whole movie aspect and even the clothes shopping. Which is hilarious since Mina tries to keep to very simple clothes but ends up trying on some rather amusing outfits that shows just how brutally stacked she is. Like, back breaking stacked. Combine that with her shyness and it’s a dangerous combination before you add in her glasses.

The episode does want to deal with the larger problems as well that are coming into focus as it’s being made very clear that Ryousuke’s life is coming to a close as his time is running out. That has a mixture of resignation and anger with the girls, especially with Lisara since there are ways to save him but he won’t take it in order to be true to himself. While he can be saved by being with Mina, he knows in his heart that as much as he does like her, it would still be a lie in the end. It’s the kind of sacrifice that Lisara is more than prepared to make, as hard as it is, but it’s not the way that he can live, either for himself or to let Mina live since she’d know in her heart as well. There’s some good, raw emotion that comes out here after the quiet simplicity of it all, allowing Lisara to really have some good moments.

In Summary:
With the show in this kind of weird state after all the action we’ve had and the general flow of events that went big, it feels rather subdued and curious. I do like what it’s doing in general, giving us a good lookat where Ryousuke’s heart truly lies, but it’s taking a bit too slow and roundabout approach to it to get behind complete. The women of the series tend to dominate of course, and this episode is no exception, but we also get some good material out of Ryousuke as he makes it clear the kind of life he wants to live and that intends to be true to his heart. It may be a little forced in the way it plays out with all the crying, but there’s a realness to it as well.
