‘Old Boy’ May Add Clive Owen

2 min read

The pre-production continues on Old Boy and even though there have been changes, things are certainly shaping up compared to what it was initially looking to be like. With Spike Lee behind the camera and Josh Brolin already signed on, casting continues after Colin Firth was offered but then declined to be a part of it. With Josh Brolin set as the lead, it’s now appearing that Spike Lee has offered the other main role to Clive Owen, who he worked with back on Inside Man and formed a good relationship with.

Original film plot concept: Oh Dae-su is an ordinary Seoul businessman with a wife and little daughter who, after a drunken night on the town, is abducted and locked up in a strange, private prison. No one will tell him why hes there and who his jailer is and his fury builds to a single-minded focus of revenge. 15 years later, he is unexpectedly freed, given a new suit, a cell-phone and 5 days to discover the mysterious enemy who had him imprisoned. Seeking vengeance on all those involved, he soon finds that his enemys tortures are just beginning.
