As the big anniversary continues with the Rurouni Kenshin franchise, having just had the new OVA premiere in theaters, the first detailed teaser has landed for the upcoming live action film from Warner Bros. Japan. The feature is still quite away out with it not expected to hit until August 25th, 2012, but it makes sense as they’re intending to not only make this an international release but to make it a series of films, so they’re putting a lot of effort and time into it. With some fairly strong awareness of the property over the years, especially with the TV series having run on Cartoon Network years ago and the manga being popular sellers in the US, hopes are for it to go a bit beyond just Japan and to break out into something new. Aniplex has been releasing the Blu-ray editions of the 15th Anniversary editions over the course of the fall through imports sold domestically at Japanese level prices.
