The second Ghost Rider feature is due to hit in February and after seeing some of the more amusing elements of the previous trailer come out, the new theatrical trailer for more mainstream audiences has landed and is now available. While many lambast the first film, it did bring in a solid theatrical box office and did well in after market releases as well, and Sony is not one to let a property get away if they can make some money on it. Of course, the movie is coming at a time when Marvel Comics is canceling its Ghost Rider comic, but historically there has been no real influence from one market to the other when a movie comes out. The only time it happened with a significant degree is when the first Batman movie came out in 1989 and the world bought anything with a Batman on it. Still, you’d think Marvel Comics would have something out on the shelves for the few people that walk in…

Plot concept: Johnny Blaze – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Riordan) from the devil (Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.
