Warner Bros. is getting some things in line based on their hopes for the Green Lantern film with more superheroes that they have the rights to and the latest one to hit the logline is that of Hawkman, and presumably the Carter Hall one at that since the character has some extra name recognition these days from Smallville. What’s out there is pretty minimal at the moment when it comes to what’s in the works, but the general feeling is that they have the core idea down and are now hiring writers to help flesh it out and get it into sellable shape. Going by the plot concept that’s circulating, it certainly seems like they intend to keep it grounded with the Carter Hall version, especially as it would make the budget more manageable after dealing with the space epic that is Green Lantern. The Indiana Jones angle also pushes it well with the archaeological aspect.
Plot Summary: Part INDIANA JONES/DA VINCI CODE, part GHOST tentpole about the fictional superhero that appears in D.C. Comic books. He used archaic weaponry and large, artificial wings attached to a harness made of the Nth metal that allows flight. Most incarnations of Hawkman work closely with a partner/romantic interest named Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman in his fight against supervillains. Based on the DC comic.
