McG Boarding Space Flick Next?

2 min read

The director everyone seems to like taking shots at and getting their hate on about is apparently going to be up for a new space adventure movie, according to Deadline New York. The site reports that 20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to a pitch that’s about a large scale SF adventure with McG set to produce, but also apparently with an eye towards possibly directing it as well. On the plus side, the project has given the script writing duties to David Callaham, who has had some of his solid scripts turned into mediocre movies with Doom and The Expendables. The man has an eye for writing action movies and combined with McG could be an interesting combination.

McG has been keeping himself busy since he got into the directing business back in 2000 with Charlie’s Angels as he has a new movie out this year, This Means War and has Ouija set for a 2012 release. The last thing he directed prior to that was Terminator Salvation, though he’s been involved with a TV pilot or two. TV is where he continues to be busiest as he serves as a producer on several shows and a couple of web series.
