HBO continues to be on the lookout for new projects that fit with its sensibilities for original projects and one that they may be rolling with is tentatively being called Hobgoblin. The drama is being penned by Michael Chabon with his wife Ayelet Waldman that deals on a group of magicians (not magic users) and con artists that “use their skills at deception to battle Hitler and his forces during World War II” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Chabon has been a novelist since 1987 and has a number of popular titles under his name with several awards over the years, winning the Hugo Nebula award two years running in 2007 and 2008 as well as others. Both he and Walmdan will serve as producers and cow-writers for the project alongside John Lesher and Adam Kassan as executive producers.
