We’ve gotten a bit about the January 2014 series Witch Craft Works before with a promo and some cast information and now we have the first TV spot for the show, which also clues us into the opening sequence by fhana as well. The series, which was announced back in November of 2012, kicked off in 2011 as manga from Ryuu Mizunagi and in good! Afternoon and has a few volumes to its name so far. The anime adaptation is being handled by JC Staff with Tsutomu Mizushima directing and handling script supervision.. He’s partnered up with Michiko Yokote on the scipts while Reiko Yoshida is handling the character designs.

The cast announced includes:

  • Yusuke Kobayashi as Honoka Takamiya
  • Asami Seto as Ayaka Kagari
  • Ai Kayano  as Kasumi Takamiya
  • Shiori Izawa  as Tanpopo Kuraishi

Plot concept: Takamiya Honoka is a regular student whose only problem seems to be that he sits next to Kagari Ayaka, the school’s #1 beauty. They have never spoken to each other before and any small interaction between them immediately results in her fanclub beating him. Yet when a falling part of the school’s building is about to send him to the afterlife, it’s Kagari that comes to his rescue. Only… she’s dressed as a witch, carrying him in her arms and floating on a broom?! Kagari tells him it is her mission to protect him and that now she can finally protect him openly rather than undercover.
