One of the things I do like in a lot of the slice of life shows out there is how people handle the rainy season with all sorts of activities. With the rainy season hitting here, we get to see how the family and Poyo handles it, especially since Poyo is really down from it all. But like Moe, the simple things make him happy such as getting a good meal. And sometimes that even includes going after a frog that suddenly runs through the house. Little green frogs are easy for him to deal with, but what we do get with this episode is something that he can’t handle. His first true enemy in the form of a large toad, not as big as Poyo, that simply stops him in his tracks. He’s pretty much frozen with a combination of fear and shock that really makes a radical change with him that is hysterical to watch.

In Summary:
While the rainy season is only here briefly, it’s something that worked well for me, especially since it leads into a lot of Poyo getting into trouble by chasing after frogs and then having one big toad come after him next. The reactions he has are priceless and the way Moe and the others deal with it is just as much fun to watch. The show hits another quick burst of energy here and just runs with it with ease, making you grin and laugh throughout no matter who is on screen and what they’re doing.
