Apparently Chino does not like celery. And wearing a rabbit on her head every day will stunt her growth. Well, that last bit of “wisdom” comes from Cocoa, so we can take it with a grain of salt. But it sets Chino off into worrying about her height. While at school, she gets some rather dubious advice from her friends, who suggest jumping and eating bananas. That first idea doesn’t turn out too well, as Chino starts skipping and jumping on her way home from school and jumps…right into a lamppost. So, moving on, she goes to the supermarket to buy some bananas where she runs into Sharo. Jumping and misunderstandings ensue.
So, this is it, the entire first part is taken up by Chino’s worries about her height and the ridiculous means to grow taller that she learns from other girls. The second part focuses on “caffé-de-mancy,” the art of telling fortunes from coffee stains left in empty coffee mugs (it is both as silly as it sounds and completely believable as something that people have done). It appears that Tippy could tell fortunes quite expertly this way, while Chino can do it only from cappuccinos. Later, we learn that Chiya can read palms, though it appears all we learn is that both Cocoa and Chiya have hidden evil streaks.
Tippy’s prognostication for Cocoa is all too true, as rabbits falling into her lunch and her panties being on display for some time show that she really should have just stayed in bed. Finally, Sharo throws money at Cocoa for good measure (this was predicted). And then…the title card! So, now we know it’s a running feature of the show, to have the title card run halfway through the episode. Which is fine, since the rest of the episode is just the girls goofing off in the library, talking about their futures and looking for an old book Chino read when she was younger.
Another episode where pretty much nothing happened, but it was cute and sweet and there was even an attempt at being heartwarming near the end when Chiya and Sharo had a talk in the library, as Sharo was starting to feel some regrets about not being in the same school as Chiya and Cocoa (Chiya made her realize that things are fine as they are). The show continues to be light and frothy, much like the milk on top of a cappuccino.
In Summary:
Cute girls doing cute things as always. This time, Chino worries about her height, the future is read from the coffee stains, and Cocoa has very odd taste in “children’s” literature. A pleasant enough way to pass the time, but utterly forgettable once the end credits have finished rolling.
