Jason Patric Joins ‘Powers’

2 min read

After the casting of Lucy Punch the other day as Deena Pilgrim in the FX pilot for Powers, you knew the casting for the lead character of Christian Walker was about to hit. Jason Patric has signed on for the pilot that’s being produced by Sony Pictures TV based off of the comic of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Fleming. The show is being shepherded by Charles H. Eglee, who was from the The Walking Dead side of things for awhile before landing here. The importance of chemistry and playing off of each other can’t be understated and the casting of these two together means that they must have clicked well.

Patric, who has been acting since 1985 with his debut in Solarbabies and followed up with by The Lost Boys, has had several projects in the last few years but has largely been under the radar with the features he’s taken. The last movie he was in was 2010’s The Losers, based loosely on the DC Comics series of the same name.

Plot concept: Heroes glide through the sky on lightning bolts and fire. Flamboyant villains attempt daring daylight robberies. God-like alien creatures clash in epic battle over the night-time sky. And on the dirty city streets below, homicide detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim investigate the murders of the world’s most powerful and popular POWERS…

Walker has teamed up with rookie, Deena Pilgrim, to investigate the shocking murder of one of the world`s most popular icons, Retro Girl.

As the murder investigation takes them from the seediest underbelly the city has to offer to the gleaming towers that are home to immortal beings, hidden truths about Retro Girl come to light. Walker finds that to solve this crime, he may have to reveal a dark secret.
