We learned back in August 2019 that the Disney+ service will be bringing a She-Hulk live-action series out down the line and there’s definitely a lot of interest in how this project will come together. We previously learned in November 2019 that Jessica Gao had come on board as the showrunner for the series to work with Marvel Studios and that Kat Coiro is in negotiations to board the project as the director for the pilot and an undisclosed number of additional episodes.

Now, with teases of some potentially interesting and familiar casting ahead in the show since it focuses on the law, some additional casting has surfaced. Again, without Marvel Studios confirming, it’s been revealed that Renée Elise Goldsberry has joined the production to take on the role known only as Amelia at this point, which may not be final/real name. She’s been seen recently in both Girls5eva and Hamilton, where she won multiple awards as Angelica Schuyler.

She’ll join series lead Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, along with appearances by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tim Roth as The Abomination, and Ginger Gonzaga.

The character of She-Hulk has been done both serious and silly and a few plans in-between. With a number of miniseries, takeovers of other series, and series of her own, she’s got an audience but has had a hard time carrying her own title for too long. One of the more interesting ones was the recent series from Charles Soule where it focused on her as a lawyer and dealing with cases involving superheroes, villains, and the like and very grounded in law itself. That could provide quite the unique hook to expand her into various corners of the MCU.

Comic Concept: Single Green Female, outgoing, intelligent, great sense of humor. Enjoys clubbing, dishing with gal-pals and saving the universe. Ready to put old issues behind and make a fresh start.
