The second film from PlayStation Productions is now going through development.

One of the bigger games of recent memory is the summer 2020 arrival of Ghost of Tsushima on the PS4. With it moving over 2 million copies on launch and closing in on seven million total since then, it has a lot of fans and a lot of interest. Now, the property is looking to expand beyond just the game world as PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures are putting together a feature film for it.

The film has Chad Stahelski of John Wick attached to direct and his 87Eleven Entertainment production company working on it.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences,” said Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions.

Plot Concept: The story centers around samurai warrior Jin Sakai, the last surviving member of his clan, who must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.
