Things worked out well at the box office for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as the film debuted in first place with a $62 million three-day take, easily keeping Mufasa from claiming the spot. The film has a strong CinemaScore and positive ratings and talk around moving forward on more films in the franchise. With Disney films usually taking strong box office positions for the holidays, it’s definitely good to see Paramount being able to stake out a win like this and getting a lot of positive buzz for it.
Kraven the Hunter falls to seventh in is second week with a $3 million take to bring it to $17 million. The War of the Rohirrim falls to ninth with a $1.2 million take to bring it to $7.3 million overall.
