Pony Canyon Reveals Final ‘Dark Gathering’ Anime Blu-ray Release Artwork

The summer 2023 anime adaptation of the Dark Gathering manga from Kenichi Kondo is getting its home video releases handled by Pony Canyon in Japan. The twenty-five-episode series is being released across six Blu-ray discs in Japan where they’re each priced at 8,000 yen with four episodes each while the final set has five episodes beginning October 18th, 2023.

Catching up on some new release material, we have a look at the cover from the sixth and final volume that arrived a few days ago. Check out the full schedule and known details below.

The series has Hiroshi Ikehata directing it at OLM with Shigeru Murakoshi handling the series composition and Shinya Segawa handling the character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Yu Sasahara as Yayoi Hozuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Keitaro Gentoga, Kana Hanazawa as Eiko Hozuki, and Rina Kawaguchi as Ai Kamiyo.

The manga series from Kenichi Kondo began in 2019 as serialized in Jump SQ magazine with ten volumes out as of August 2022.

Plot Concept: Keitarō Gentōga is a young man who has the ability to be a spirit medium. In junior high school, he got someone else wrapped up in a spirit possession incident, and he has been a shut-in for more than two years. As he reintroduces himself to society as a private tutor, he meets a genius girl named Yayoi Hōzuki. Yayoi is instantly able to tell that Keitarō has skill as a spirit medium, and she invites him to go with her to a haunted location. The two then start their journey capturing evil spirits.
