A new original anime project was revealed previously at AnimeJapan 2023 with the 2024 property Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night. It’s being presented as part of the 50th anniversary of Doga Kobo which will have Ryohei Takeshita directing it from the original work credited to JELEE. Yuki Yaku is handling the scripts and the original designs are from popman3580, which are being adapted by Junichiro Taniguchi.
With the series recently given a formal April 6th, 2024 premiere date, HIDIVE previously revealed their pickup of the series for the spring season. The show will get an early premiere at Anime Boston on March 29th, 2024 with the first two episodes being played for attendees. With all of this coming up fast, they’ve now taken another of the Japanese promos and added English subtitles to it in order to draw more people to the show and the service.

Plot Concept: Shibuya is a city full of identity. It is here on Shibuya’s late night streets that illustrator Mahiru Kozuki, former idol Kano Yamanouchi, Vtuber Kiui Watase and composer Mei Kim Anouk Takanashi — four young women who are slightly outside the world — join together and form an anonymous artist group called JELEE. “I” also want to shine like someone else. If it’s not me but “we” then we might be able to shine.
