The third release week of March is here when it comes to home video releases and while we cover the anime side specifically elsewhere, we have a look at the more general market today. This week is one of the weakest we’ve seen in an age but also about what was expected thanks to the strikes and the delay of projects.
On the new film side, it’s a very light week after the previous week brought out a lot of things in a post-Oscars environment to ride that wave. Here, it’s a Kino Lorber release and a Criterion release that’s going for a pretty limited audience.
On the re-release side, a lot of people are still trying to get copies of last week’s big releases of James Cameron films – and all the controversy around them – but we do get a really good slate of interesting 4k releases this week, from K-19 to Changing Lanes and the recent Child’s Play.
On the TV side, this week has more Doctor Who!
