One of my favorite series from the previous decade is getting some new physical media distribution with Mushishi getting the attention. German distributor Polyband/WVG has set an April 26th, 2024 release for the first volume on Blu-ray priced at €48.82. It’ll have the first seven episodes of the series in bilingual form with German and Japanese with extras that include the clean theme songs.

Originally airing in 2005, the series was directed by Hiroshi Nagahama who also handled the series composition for it. Based on the manga by Yuki Urushibara, Yoshihiko Umakoshi worked on the character designs with Artland handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yuto Nakano as Ginko, Mika Doi as the narrator, and Yūji Ueda as Adashino-sensei.
The English dub was directed by Mike McFarland with Leah Clark assisting. The English cast was lead by Travis Willingham as Ginko.
Plot Concept: The Mushi Master Ginko travels from place to place to research Mushi—strange natural spirits—and aid people suffering from the problems caused by the enigmatic entities.
