We learned back at the end of December 2020 that the Chainsaw Man manga was coming to an end, but that was mostly just to prepare it for the second part that was getting underway not long after on the Shonen Jump+ app. The show saw an October 11th, 2022 premiere and now some new material has been announced.

The TV series is now spawning an anime feature film that will adapt the Reze Arc with Rina Ueda on board to play that character. No staff has been set for it but it’s expected that the TV production will be behind it. Check out the promo and key visual released below for it.

The TV series saw Ryu Nakayama direct it based on the scripts by Hiroshi Seko. Kazutaka Sugiyama is on board with the character designs for it and, as mentioned, MAPPA will handle the animation production.

The Japanese main cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Shogo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa, Fairouz Ai as Power, Shiori Izawa as Pochita, Mariya Ise as Himeno, Karin Takahashi as Kobeni Higashiyama, Taku Yashiro as Hirokazu Arai, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Kishibe. Additional cast includes Maaya Uchida as Angel Devil, Natsuki Hanae as Shark Fiend, Yuya Uchida as Violence Fiend, Saori Goto as Spider Devil, Yō Taichi as Akane Sawatari, and Daiki Hamano as Samurai Sword.

The series began back in 2016 in Japan with Viz Media releasing it in English as well.
