When it comes to manga, we’ve got something of a real change here once again that’s interesting. Most months, almost all – if not all – are from Viz Media and that’s due to the power of Shonen Jump properties. It’s a real stranglehold that’s frustrating when there are so many amazing books out there and other publishers that almost never chart.
This month has Tokyopop with Disney Manga for The Nightmare Before Christmas making the list while Inklore gets a slot for The Mysteries from Bill Watterson while IDW scores with more TMNT. Dark Horse continues to chart with Berserk as its first volume shows again.
Naturally, it’s all about Viz Media still for the most part, but it’s still more varied than it has been in a while. One Piece takes the top spot with a new volume out while Kaiju no 8 is showing some real strength as is Oshi no Ko from Yen Press.
