‘Shugo Chara!’ Manga Getting Sequel Series

2 min read
With the help of her Guardian Characters, Amu is about to discover that her true self is even more amazing than she ever dreamed.

The Shugo Chara! manga began way back in 2006 and had twelve volumes to its name and a four-cour anime series as well in 2007. There were a couple of sequel anime works as well while the manga side saw a light touch done with an anniversary for creators Peach-Pit themselves back in 2001. But largely, it’s been quite some time since this property has had much attention to it while they worked on other projects.

Now, it looks like the property is coming back as a sequel manga is set for a summer 2024 launch in Nakayoshi magazine. Details are expected later this month when some new illustrations and merchandise are being rolled out by Kodansha for the property.

Plot Concept: Everybody at Seiyo Elementary thinks that stylish and supercool Amu has it all. But nobody knows the real Amu, a shy girl who wishes she had the courage to truly be herself. Changing Amu’s life is going to take more than wishes and dreams—it’s going to take a little magic! One morning, Amu finds a surprise in her bed: three strange little eggs. Each egg contains a Guardian Character, an angel-like being who can give her the power to be someone new. With the help of her Guardian Characters, Amu is about to discover that her true self is even more amazing than she ever dreamed.
