Crunchyroll Launches ‘Dr. Stone’ 3rd Anime Season Italian Dub

The anime series Dr. Stone has had two seasons out and we know a third one is coming. As part of the Jump Festa 2022 event earlier this year, it was revealed that the third season is now set for a 2023 debut. With the way productions are running these days and the ongoing rolling fallout of COVID-19, this is not a surprise. With the new special out that focuses on Ryusui already out, the main focus is on the recent spring 2023 series going under the subtitle of New World.

The third season went live on April 6th, 2023 and Crunchyroll previously set an April 20th, 2023 premiere for the start of the English dub. We recently saw the Castilian, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish dubs kicked off on Thursday afternoons with their first episodes and new episodes will go live weekly at 3:30 pm ET for viewers. Now, the show has had the first two episodes drop with an Italian dub and will be joining the same release period going forward with new episodes.

Shinya Iino directed the series based on the series composition by Yuichiro Kido. Yuko Iwasa handled the character designs for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Gen Sato as Chrome, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen, and Mugihito as Kaseki.

The English dub has Cris George is directing it from the scripts by Matt Shipman. The English cast includes Aaron Dismuke as Senku, Matt Shipman as Chrome, Felecia Angelle as Kohaku, Brandon McInnis as Gen, Ricco Fajardo as Taiju, and Clifford Chapin as Ryusui.

Plot Concept: One fateful day, all of humanity turned to stone. Many millennia later, Taiju frees himself from the petrification and finds himself surrounded by statues. The situation looks grim—until he runs into his science-loving friend Senku! Together they plan to restart civilization with the power of science!

When every human on Earth is turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon, high-schooler Taiju is also petrified the moment he’s about to confess to his high-school crush. Flash forward several thousands of years later, Taiju awakens and joins up with his friend Senku, who has ambitious dreams. His plan: to restart civilization from square one with the power of science!
