We learned in September 2021 that the Kotaro was Hitori Gurashi manga, also known as Kotaro Lives Alone, will be getting an anime adaptation. It’s set for worldwide debut on Netflix next spring as we knew through recent events the service ran. With it getting a March 10th, 2022 worldwide premiere, Netflix has now rolled out a new four-minute clip for it. Here, Kotaro sings to himself… and you can compare each language!

The anime will be directed by Tomoe Makino based on the story composition by Hiroshi Sato. Tomomi Kimura is handling the character designs with LIDEN FILMS handling the animation production.

The cast includes Rie Kugimiya as Kotaro Sato, Toshiki Masuda as Shin Karino, Junichi Suwabe as Isamu Tamaru, and Saori Hayami as Mizuki Akitomo

The series began in Big Comic Superior back in 2015 from Mami Tsumura and has eight volumes out as of September 2021.

Plot Concept: The “apartment comedy with laughs and tears” centers on a 4-year-old boy named Kotarō Satо̄, who moves next door to Shin Karino, an unsuccessful manga artist. Kotarō has no parents and lives alone. Not only does he seem to earn a living, he actually seems more put together than his own strange neighbors.
