Hulu Adds ‘Lucifer And Biscuit Hammer’ TV Anime 2nd Cour English Dub Streaming

The anime adaptation that many have wanted for a long time is coming as the 2005-2010 series Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer, aka Hoshi no Samidare, arrived with a July 8th, 2022 debut for it. Crunchyroll is handling the simulcast for the season and previously the first cour saw some new attention. The twelve episodes of it were added to Hulu for streaming previously in its English-dubbed form which complements the previously added simulcast episodes of the original Japanese language edition. Now, the back half of the season has had its English dubbed episodes added, bringing it to a full run now available in bilingual form.

The theme song performers include Half time Old performing the opening song “Gyoko” while SpendyMily is performing “Reflexion” as the ending theme song.

Nobuaki Nakanishi is directing it while original creator Satoshi Mizukami is handling the series composition with Yuichiro Momose. Hajime Hatakeyama is on board for the character designs with NAZ handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Junya Enoki as Yuuhi Amamiya, Naomi Ōzora as Samidare Asahina, Kenjiro Tsuda as Noi Crezant, Azusa Tadokoro as Hisame Asahina, M.A.O as Anima, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Animus, Shuuhei Iwase as Hangetsu Shinonome, Gen Sato as Mikazuki Shinonome, Tetsu Inada as Sōichirō Nagumo, Aya Suzaki as Yayoi Hakudō, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Hyō Shimaki, Shunichi Toki as Tarō Kusakabe, Chinatsu Hirose as Hanako Sorano, Chihaya Yoshitake as Subaru Hoshikawa, Moeha Nochimoto as Yuimachi Tsukishiro, Mutsumi Tamura as Taiyō Akane, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Inachika Akitani, Shōya Ishige as ludo Shubarie, Atsuko Tanaka as Muu, Kentarō Kumagai as Dance Dark, Hyousei as Shea Moon, Nagisa Kakegawa as Coo Ritter, Kazutomi Yamamoto as Lance Lumiere, Ruriko Aoki as Kil Zonne, Mitsuo Iwata as Lee Soleil, Katsuji Mori as Ron Yue, Manabu Muraji as Loki Helios, and Tetsuei Sumiya as Zan Amaru.

The title was written and drawn by Satoshi Mizukami and completed its run successfully after ten volumes as serialized in Young King Monthly. The series has seen some release in the North American market previously through JManga, but Seven Seas Entertainment picked it up in 2013.

Plot concept: Asamiya Yuuhi was an ordinary college student… until the day a lizard showed up and asked him to help save the world. The next thing he knows, he’s been given a ring and special powers, plus an enemy stalking him. However, he’s saved in the nick of time by the Girl Next Door, Samidare, who’s planning… WHAT kinds of things?! This is an unconventional story that mixes ordinary life with the bizarre and supernatural!
