Kadokawa previously revealed a new original anime project they’re working on with Renai Flops. Set for an October 12th, 2022 premiere on the main broadcast services and Japanese streaming services, the folks at HIDIVE recently announced their pickup for it as Love Flops and that Sentai Filmworks will release it on home video later.
With the series launching in Japan and on HIDIVE, the Kadokawa brought out the first preview of the twelfth episode that’s due out on December 28th, 2022.
Nobuyoshi Nagayama is directing it with Ryo Yasumoto handling the series composition. Kazuyuki Ueda is on board for the character designs and studio Passione is handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Miku Itō as Aoi Izumizawa
- Ayana Taketatsu as Amelia Irving
- Rie Takahashi as Ilya Ilyukhin
- Hisako Kanemoto as Bai Mongfa

- Jun Fukuyama as Yoshio Ijūin
- Shiori Izawa as Raburin
The opening theme song is from Konomi Suzuki with “Love? Reason why!!” and the ending theme song has the main actors for the show coming together for “Flop Around” with Miku Itō, Ayana Taketatsu, Rie Takahashi, Hisako Kanemoto, and Marika Kōno.

Plot Concept: Asahi Kashiwagi lives the typical life of an average high school student — until the day a TV fortune teller’s predictions come true one after another, culminating in a series of risqué encounters! Destiny seemingly draws five beautiful girls into Asahi’s path, and soon he finds himself fielding not one, not two, but five love confessions. Asahi will need to follow his heart to find the perfect love for him, or else his love fortunes may end in one epic flail and flop.
