The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film takes the top spot in the box office chart for the fifth week in a row here and it’ll definitely be its last. The film added another $11.1 million to bring it to $409.8 million domestic and just under $750 million worldwide without a Chinese or Russian release. The film has certainly done well with all of the usual challenges that come with it and the built-in wait for some like myself for the Disney+ streaming that’ll be coming sooner rather than later.
Next weekend is where all the attention really is at this point with the arrival of Avatar: The Way of Water coming. It’s being tracked at a $200 million domestic start and that’s what’s keeping a lot of other projects from either promoting themselves or launching anything because it’s expected that it’s going to dominate and clear out attention for anything else.
Most of this weekend’s chart otherwise is what’s been out for a bit and it’s larger around $3 million or lower with Violent Night in its second weekend being the only exception. Almost half the chart is at $1.5 million or under.
