One of my favorite series from the previous decade is getting some new streaming distribution with Mushishi getting the attention. Hulu has now brought the first season of this series with its full twenty-six-episode run to the service for streaming. The show was picked up and released by Funimation originally.

Originally airing in 2005, the series was directed by Hiroshi Nagahama who also handled the series composition for it. Based on the manga by Yuki Urushibara, Yoshihiko Umakoshi worked on the character designs with Artland handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Yuto Nakano as Ginko, Mika Doi as the narrator, and Yūji Ueda as Adashino-sensei.

The English dub was directed by Mike McFarland with Leah Clark assisting. The English cast was lead by Travis Willingham as Ginko.

Plot Concept: The Mushi Master Ginko travels from place to place to research Mushi—strange natural spirits—and aid people suffering from the problems caused by the enigmatic entities.
