Avex Pictures handles the distribution of the Haiyore! Nyaruko-san anime series and they’re rolling out some of the older material they’ve got for a new release. This property last saw some action with a compact edition released back in 2020 but now a new update has come in that will make people happy. With plans for a new box set coming up to try and contain almost everything from this property, a new key visual was released below to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original work. It’s a great-looking piece that makes you want more.
The original adaptation, Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!, came out in 2012 for a twelve-episode run that was directed by Tsuyoshi Nagasawa and based on the series composition by Noboru Kimura. Masaaki Takiyama worked on the character designs adapting from the original light novels written by Manta Aisora with artwork by Koin. Xebec handled the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Eri Kitamura as Mahiro Yasaka, Kana Asumi as Nyaruko, Aya Hisakawa as Yoriko Yasaka, Bin Shimada as Nodens, Mariko Kouda as Luhy Jistone, Miyu Matsuki as Ku-ko, Rie Kugimiya as Hasuta, Satomi Arai as Shanta-kun, Shiori Mikami as Gutatan, Takeshi Kusao as Nyaruo, Wataru Hatano as Takehiko Yoichi, and Yuka Ōtsubo as Tamao Kurei.
Originally licensed by NIS America, that expired and Crunchyroll is currently streaming the series.
Series premise: Mahiro has become accustomed to his protection detail of Nyaruko, Kuko, and Hasuta making his life interesting. Nyaruko starts scheming with Tamao to turn up the charm and sway Mahiro’s resolve, while Kuko reconsiders her own stance on love. Things get tricky as the gang deals with a monstrous monkey, an unexpected visitor from Kuko’s past, balancing love and duty, and of course, saving the world.
