We learned in December 2021 that another novel series is getting made into an anime series with the Kōkyū no Karasu, aka A Raven in the Harem property. Aniplex Japan has now detailed the project with the first formal key visual below and that it’s being scheduled for an October 2022 debut as part of the fall season.

The latest update brings us a couple of cast additions below but also a new promotional video and a key visual which sets an October 1st, 2022 premiere for it.

Chizuru Miyawaki is directing it based on the scripts overseen by Satomi Ooshima. Shinji Takeuchi is adapting the character designs with BN Pictures handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Saku Mizuno as Jusetsu Ryō
  • Masaaki Mizunaka as Kōshun Ka
  • Taku Yashiro as Eisei
  • Marika Kōno as Jiujiu

The newly added cast includes:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Onkei
  • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Tankai

Created by Koko Shirakawa back in 2018, it has six volumes out as of the end of 2021 that were illustrated by Ayuko.

Plot Concept: The series follows Uki, an imperial concubine who has never been called to the emperor’s bed chambers, and maintains a singularly unique life within the harem chambers. Seen by some as having the appearance of an old woman, and some others as a young lady, she is known to use mysterious magic that helps with everything from finding lost items to inflicting curses. When a circumstance makes the emperor call on her, their meeting will change history.
