‘A Quiet Place’ Spinoff Project Rescheduled & Detailed

2 min read
Following the events at home, the Abbott family now face the terrors of the outside world.

With A Quiet Place scoring $340 million in the theatrical circuit back in 2018 on its $20 million or so budget, it wasn’t any surprise at all that a sequel was put into motion. That film finally hit on May 28th, 2021 where it did $57 million across the four-day holiday debut and did $297 million overall, which considering it was at the start of theaters coming back is pretty damn impressive

We learned in the summer of 2021 that a spinoff film had been put on the schedule for a September 22nd, 2023 debut but that was subsequently delayed. Now, a March 8th, 2024 release has been set for it with the title A Quiet Place: Day One. While casting is still to be revealed, it has Michael Sarnoski directing it and from his own screenplay after Jeff Nichols departed the project.

The third film is being written and directed by Jeff Nichols based on an idea by John Krasinski that’s intended to broaden the world overall. Which makes a lot of sense as you could easily do a kind of Cloverfield-like plan with this and populate the world with a really different variety of stories and characters.

Plot Concept: Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
