The Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt series is one that stands a weird test of time and here we are, twelve years after it came out, and Studio Trigger has announced a second season of it at Anime Expo today at their panel.

We’ll be updating with details as we get them.

Originally airing in 2012, the first season was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and based on the series composition by Geek Fleet. Atsushi Nishigori worked on the character designs with Gainax handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Arisa Ogasawara as Panty, Mariya Ise as Stocking, Ayumi Fujimura as Kneesocks, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Briefs, Kōji Ishii as Garterbelt, Miki Makiguchi as Fastner, Shigeru Chiba as Corset, Takashi Nakamura as Chuck, and Yuka Komatsu as Scanty.

The English dub produced by Funimation was directed by Colleen Clinkenbeard with a cast that includes Christopher R. Sabat as Garterbelt, Jamie Marchi as Panty, Monica Rial as Stocking, Cherami Leigh as Kneesocks, Chris Ayres as Corset, Christopher Bevins as Fastener, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Scanty, Ian Sinclair as Chuck, and Joel McDonald as Brief.

Check out our review of the series.

Plot Concept: The Anarchy Sisters Panty and Stocking are two nasty angels who got booted from the pearly gates for being foul-mouthed bitches! Now they spend their days blowing up ghosts in the lecherous abyss between Heaven and Earth. Panty likes sex, Stocking likes sweets, their afro-sporting main man Garter Belt has a fetish we can’t mention. Together, they’re keeping the streets free of bodily fluids. Ghosts don’t have a prayer against their panty pistols and stocking swords, and if this debaucherous duo can collect enough Heaven Coins, they just might get their halos back. They’ve got a slim chance in hell, but rolling commando is the best way to get lucky – especially with Panty and Stocking!
