As with a lot of multimedia projects, you almost always see an anime component of it in some form. The Idol Bu Show is no exception as we learned earlier this month that a feature film is set to arrive this summer. The film was announced in March 2022 and has a June 24th, 2022 theatrical release date set for it. As that’s almost here, we now have the second promotional video for it that has both the anime side and the live-action footage from previous events.
The project has Shingo Kobayashi directing it with original designs for the characters by NOB-C. The animation production is being handled by Amineworks and ORENDA.

Plot Concept: The concept behind the project is a “battle royale” between three idol units, each one led by a Sengoku-era commander who has been reincarnated as a music producer. The winner of the battle royale will be determined by sales numbers and voting at each live performance. The group that wins will hold a grand live performance to adopt the name of “the greatest under the heavens.”
