A new web anime is in our future with the Sekai no Owari ni Shiba Inu to manga from Yu Ishihara getting the nod last week. The series was set for a summer debut on YouTube as directed by Tanigawa Sorosoro with DLE handling the animation production. Now, Sentai Filmworks has revealed their pickup of the series with plans for streaming through their HIDIVE service with firm dates and details to come in regards to regional availability.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Maaya Uchida as Master
  • Mutsumi Tamura as Haru-san

Uchida commented on it via MoCa saying, “My name is Maaya Uchida and I will play Master! The recording was done with Mutsumi, who played the role of Haru, and it was a very fun dubbing. Haru-san’s innocent cuteness didn’t stop me from grinning …! It is an irresistible work for those who like doggies. Please look forward to the interaction between the two!”

Tamura said, “When I saw Haru-san, I thought he was a barking dog because he was a real dog. Speak well. Do you speak more than humans? It was a nice miscalculation! Haru is a dog, but he is a talking dog and has a lot of knowledge. I sometimes hunt down my favorite husband with knowledge, but because of love. One, one, and many characters … dogs? Not only dogs, but various things will appear! Please enjoy it !!”

Plot Concept: The sole surviving human and her canine companion, Haru, wander a desolate wasteland after the destruction of civilization, but this is no dark doomsday tale. Haru, a wise-beyond-his-years talking shiba inu, makes sure his master stays one step ahead of post-apocalyptic pessimism with his clever antics, hilarious observations and philosophical ponderings. She may be the last girl on earth, but with Haru at her side, the road through the apocalypse will never be boring!
