2 min read

Announced in December 2020, the folks at Shinei Animation joined up with the Okinawan ice cream company Blue Seal Ice Cream to collaborate on a TV anime series. The project was called iii icecrin and saw an April 2021 season debut for it. Recently, it was revealed that a second season is coming for the show with plans for a July 2022 debut. While we’re still waiting on a few more details regarding the season, a new promotional trailer has arrived for it.

The show has Aya Matsui designing the characters which are based on the fifteen flavors of ice cream that the company produces. They’re being done as an ice cream/animal fusion kind of thing.

Juria Matsumura is directing it based on the series composition by Hiroko Fukuda.

The Japanese cast includes Taeko Kawata as Vanillan, Fumiko Orikasa as Chocon, Ryōta Iwasaki as Mamango, Sayaka Senbongi as Blune, Konomi Kohara as Stochii, Marina Horiuchi as Francisco Minton XV, Rena Maeda as Bakkii, Mai Satō as Nana, Chitose Morinaga as Chicchi, Maria Naganawa as Tirara, Megumi Satou as Nap, and Hina Kino as Mabubu.

Plot Concept: Icecrins are the sweetly peculiar inhabitants of Ice Cream Town. Every day is a fresh start, with each Icecrin bringing their own unique flavor wherever they go. They may lose their cool at times, but in the end, they always do their best to help their friends have a very ‘ice day!
