“Are We Too Good?”

What They Say:
The teen romantic comedy follows the “indecipherable” daily life of short, quiet Reina Aharen and Raidō who sits next to her in class. Aharen is not so good at gauging the distance between people (or personal boundaries), and Raidō initially sensed some distance between the two of them. Then one day, when Raidō picked up the eraser that Aharen had dropped, the distance between them suddenly became uncomfortably close.

From “way too distant” to “way too close” … Aharen is simply unpredictable.

Do you know who’s a terrible swimmer? Aharen. That’s okay, Raido will teach her. Oh wait, he’s terrible at swimming! Well then, this is quite the predicament. Does anyone know how to swim? I guess Oshiro does. She teaches them how to swim. Afterward, Raido and Aharen decide to have a race. Raido thinks he has a shot at winning. If previous episodes have taught us anything, it’s that Raido is delusional. More than likely, Aharen is going to beat him. And that’s exactly what happens. Poor guy. When will he learn?

Will Raido ever beat Aharen? That’s a good question. Swimming isn’t the only thing they’re going to compete in today! Next up is ping pong. As you can probably guess, they’re both not very good at it. Luckily for Raido, they’re also evenly matched and their game ends in a draw. He interprets this as both of them being very good at ping pong and enters their team into a tournament. They get destroyed in the first round. I saw that coming from a mile away. How about some bowling? Their bowling session ends exactly like their ping pong game. Yup, it’s a tie. Alright, how about basketball? On paper, there’s no way Raido should lose one-on-one against Aharen. On the other hand, he hasn’t beaten her in anything. Will Raido win for the very first time? Yes! He managed to beat Aharen! It finally happened! I never thought I’d see the day. Even though he won, Raido thinks Aharen has potential. They enter a basketball tourney together and get shut out in the first game. You got greedy, Raido.

Will Raido continue his winning streak in a zombie arcade game? Nah, his luck has run out. He almost dies immediately while Aharen lands perfect headshots. Radio ain’t no Leon Kennedy, that’s for sure. I guess he’s back to his losing ways. Hey, at least he managed to get one win. Baby steps! Aharen steps away for a minute and when she returns…she seems different. She’s smiling? She’s crying!? I’ve never seen her make those faces before! Where did all of these emotions come from? But that’s not all, she can’t even beat Raido in a game anymore! He suspects that she’s either a clone or has amnesia. I’m thinking she’s a clone. As it turns out, that was a pretty close guess. It actually turns out to be Aharen’s little brother who looks exactly like her. He happens to enjoy dressing up in her clothes. If it makes him happy, who I am to judge?

In Summary:
Raido finally beat Aharen! Shocking, I know. Granted, it was in a game of basketball where he had an overwhelming height advantage. But a win is a win. I hope he cherishes that victory because he probably won’t be getting another one any time soon. I could be wrong but history favors Aharen. Speaking of Aharen, she has a little brother, huh? They look so much alike! They could pass off as twins. I thought the after-credit scene where Aharen hugged her little brother was adorable. Supportive big sister Aharen warms my heart.
