With the usual delay between the period and the reporting in place, Nielsen has updated to reveal the most-streamed shows in the US through the week ending March 27th, 2022. This period is one where Netflix basically soaked up all the big time by working with a number of large and licensed shows. It’s very light when it comes to original shows for the most part and that shows the power of some series that they do bring on and spend money on.
With Turning Red getting a ton of attention right out of the gate, it’s certainly not going anywhere but it has dropped to fourth place quicker than I expected. Disney+ holds onto another spot with Encanto as well so they’re making sure it’s not a blowout by Netflix.
The folks at Netflix are likely pleased to see The Adam Project still in second place and that Is It Cake doing so well with its eight episodes. But it’s the second season of Bridgerton that’s soaking up the views as it takes the top spot. That’s doing the numbers along with The Last Kingdom and we see other familiar properties holding high slots for licensed properties.
