Media Blasters Close To Soliciting ‘Girl’s High’ Anime Series Blu-ray; Showcases Packaging

2 min read
Eriko and her friends finally make it to an exclusive high school and they're ready to make the most of it!

One of our favorite shows from a lifetime ago is the 2006 anime series Girls’ High, which Media Blasters brought out on DVD back in 2007. We’ve had some streaming through a couple of different services over the last few years and it was a title that Media Blasters was asked about a Blu-ray release back in 2020. They teased that it was possible and it soon became clear it was part of a package of four shows they were working on that included Ramen Fight Miki and Mazinkaiser.

Now, it looks like they’re getting closer to soliciting a release as they’re talking about the announcement and that it will be an O-Ring release that includes a double-sided postcard. While nothing has gone to retailers yet, we have a look at the new cover design and the two sides of the post card below.

Originally released in 2006, the series was directed by Yoshitaka Fujimoto based on the series composition by Hideki Shirane from the manga by Towa Oshima. Seiji Kishimoto worked on the character designs and ARMS handled the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Hitomi Nabatame as Eriko Takahashi, Kyoko Hikami as Kyoko Himeji, Mamiko Noto as Ayano Sato, Masumi Asano as Yuma Suzuki, Satsuki Yukino as Akari Koda and Sawa Ishige as Ikue Ogawa.

Plot concept: Three girls, Eriko, Yuma, and Ayano, are excited about starting their first day of high school. They get so excited that they break the rules before even starting by touring the school before the school’s opening ceremony. They find out their original notions about the all female school may not be as true as they were thinking. However, Eriko and her friends are joined by more new friends. They all work hard to get through high school life together.
