Madman Schedules ‘Strike Witches: Road to Berlin’ Anime Blu-ray Release

A new offensive against the Neuroi is underway, but humanity's enemy has already grown stronger. Now, the allied forces are left with one last hope-for the 501st Joint Fighter Wing to reunite for a final battle, with a dutiful new member at their side!

The fall 2020 anime series Strike Witches: Road to Berlin is getting some new attention as Australian distributor Madman Entertainment has set a home video release. The show is getting done with a planned March 9th, 2022 release where it’ll be on Blu-ray only priced at $64.95. It’ll be a bilingual release across two discs with extras that include all twelve closings and the opening in clean form.

Jad Saxton served as the ADR director for it working from the scripts by Clink Bickham. The English cast includes Cherami Leigh as Yoshika, Stephanie Sheh as Barkhorn, Caitlin Glass as Eila, Trina Nishimura as Francesca, Luci Christian as Hartmann, Kate Bristol as Lynne, Anastasia Munoz as Mina, Kira Vincent-Davis as Sakamoto, Jamie Marchi as Shirley, Jād Saxton as Perrine, Jessica Foster as Sanya, Dani Chambers as Altia, Patrick McAlister as Carlo, Anthony Bowling as Hijikata, and Jeremy Schwartz as Narrator.

Kazuhiro Takamura, who also adapted the character designs, directed it with Tatsuhiko Urata as the chief writer with David Production handling the animation

The Japanese cast includes Misato Fukuen as Yoshika Miyafuji, Saori Seto as Mio Sakamoto, Kaori Nazuka as Lynette Bishop, Miyuki Sawashiro as Perrine-H. Clostermann, Rie Tanaka as Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mie Sonozaki as Gertrud Barkhorn, Sakura Nogawa as Erica Hartmann, Chiwa Saito as Francesca Lucchini, Ami Koshimizu as Charlotte E Yeager, Mai Kadowaki as Sanya V. Litvyak, and Ayuru Ōhashi as Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen.

The series features the opening theme song with “Yuki no Tsubasa” while the voice actress unit for the show, 501st Joint Fighter Wing, will handle the ending theme song “Kimi no Tsubasa ni Akogarete.”

Plot Concept: The property overall focuses on an alien invasion by beings known as the Neuroi. The only way to damage and ultimately defeat them lies in Witches, girls who possess magical powers and are capable of wielding Striker Units that enhances their abilities and allow them to maneuver in the air. The characters in the franchise are often based on real-life aerial aces from various nationalities.
