Media Blasters began teasing another of their older projects that would be coming back into the spotlight with Grenadier. The twelve-episode anime series was originally released across three volumes back in 2005 and eventually as a complete collection as well. It saw only a DVD release and has been out of print for quite some time.

Now, the distributor has scheduled this for a December 28th, 2021 release where a new DVD edition is priced at $19.99 and the first-time Blu-ray edition priced at $39.99, both of which have their own unique cover artwork below. Note that the DVD is manufactured on DVD-R discs and may not be compatible with older DVD players and/or gaming consoles.

The 2004 anime series was directed by Hiroshi Koujina with series composition by Akira Okeya based on the original manga by Sousuke Kaise. Hideki Inoue worked on the character designs and served as the chief animation director with Group TAC and Studio Live handling the production.

The Japanese cast includes Chieko Honda as Tenshi, Kazuya Nakai as Yajiro Kojima, and Mikako Takahashi as Rushuna Tendo. The English dub was written and directed by Wendee Lee at Anime-Ya with an English cast that includes Midge Mayes as Tenshi, Sam Regal as Yajiro Kojima, and Wendee Lee as Rushuna Tendo.

The series features the opening themes  “KOHAKU” by Mikuni Shimokawa and “Akatsuki no Sora wo Kakeru” by Hiromi Sato as well as the ending themes with “Kanashimi ni Makenaide” by Mikuni Shimokawa and #2: “Hana no Youni” by Hiromi Sato.

Plot Concept: Rushuna is a blonde and very beautiful Senshi (gun expert) that travels through the world with one purpose. This is to make the world a peaceful place by instead of fighting with weapons, taking away the people´s will to fight by giving them a smile. Although she doesn´t want to fight, she is forced too and shows amazing gun skills. In this journey she meets Yajiro, a Mercenary that uses a sword to fight and joins her on her journey.
