A new anime series looks to be in our future as we learned in April 2021 that the My Dress-Up Darling manga is being listed as one. We didn’t get any details at the time but now the latest Young Gangan magazine has revealed the staff for it as well as the first key visual.

The series has Keisuke Shinohara on board to direct based on the scripts overseen by Yoriko Tomita. Kazumasa Ishida is handling the character designs while also serving as the chief animation director. CloverWorks is on board to handle the animation production.

The manga, known as Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru, comes from Shinichi Fukuda which began in January 2018 and has six volumes to its name so far. Square Enix Manga & Books is bringing the series out in English with three volumes so far.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: Traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who took exception to his love of traditional dolls, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojō passes his days as a loner, finding solace in the home ec room at his high school. To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl who’s always surrounded by a throng of friends, is practically an alien from another world. But when cheerful Marin–never one to be shy–spots Wakana sewing away one day after school, she barges in with the aim of roping her quiet classmate into her secret hobby: cosplay.
