It’s a new season and CiRCLE is on fire from the get-go. Well, that was fast! Apparently, the seven bands are doing battle with each other to unify Japan. What is this…the Warring States period? I guess it could be since all of the singers are wearing Sengoku-style helmets. Each of the seven bands – Afterglow, Pastel✽Palettes, Hello, Happy World!, RAISE A SUILEN, Morfonica, Roselia, and Poppin’Party – get fiery intros. By the way, Roselia got a final boss-type intro which they definitely deserve. They are the QUEENS after all. Whoops, there goes my Roselia bias showing again. Everyone seems pumped up for this battle! Okay, mostly everyone. A few of the girls are confused by all of this (looking at you LAYER, MASKING, and LOCK) but play along nonetheless. Arisa is not amused by any of this though.
I wish I could tell you that after these epic intros that an amazing battle ensued. Sadly, that did not happen. Those intros took up almost the entire episode and in the end, we find out that CiRCLE was simply overbooked for the day. From Marina’s perspective, I guess it looks like the Warring States period. Or better yet, the Warring Girls Band period. What a tease!
In Summary:
Last year I wished for another season of Garupa ☆ Pico and by golly, we got it! This pleases me. I look forward to seeing the crazy shenanigans this season has in store for us. Oh, and also counting the deaths. Can’t forget about that! If CiRCLE being set on fire in the first episode is any indication, I have a feeling that this season is going to be lit. Mabushī wa ne…
